Why Braces for Teens?

Braces offer numerous benefits for teenagers, including:

  • Transformative Results: Braces can correct a wide range of dental issues common among teenagers, including crooked teeth, overcrowding, gaps, and misaligned bites, resulting in a straighter, healthier smile.
  • Enhanced Confidence: A beautiful smile can boost a teenager’s self-esteem and confidence, leading to improved social interactions and overall well-being.
  • Improved Oral Health: Straighter teeth are easier to clean and maintain, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and other oral health issues in the long run.
  • Long-Term Investment: Investing in orthodontic treatment during the teenage years can set the foundation for a lifetime of oral health and confidence, with results that last well into adulthood.

Traditional Metal Braces

These are the most common type of braces and consist of metal brackets and wires. While they are highly effective, they are also the most noticeable option.

Clear Braces

Made of ceramic materials, clear braces are less noticeable than traditional metal braces, making them a popular choice for older children and teens.

Invisalign® Clear Aligners

Invisalign® is a popular alternative to traditional braces for older children and teens. These clear aligners are removable and virtually invisible, allowing for greater flexibility and convenience.

What to Expect During Treatment

The braces journey begins with a consultation with Dr. Peter Worth, where he will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teenager’s teeth and bite and discuss the recommended treatment plan. Once braces are placed, your teenager will need to visit our office regularly for adjustments and monitoring of their progress. It’s important for teenagers to maintain good oral hygiene habits during treatment, including brushing and flossing regularly and avoiding certain foods that can damage braces.
